All this said, I wonder what exactly is this Happiness?
Happiness, according to the dictionary, is: "characterized by or indicative of pleasure, contentment, or joy: a happy mood; a happy frame of mind." (I know its a cliché to start with a dictionary reference but please do go on)
Pleasure, Contentment? from what? what makes you content? what gives you pleasure? A pint, a fag, a gr8 romantic session you had last night? may be, but we don't pursue this stuff......we don't pursue to earn enough to buy a pint or a quality fag, we don't pursue women/men (I am going to be fair with sexual orientation here). So what is it that drives us to work and colleges every day? MONEY
Yup Money. Fukin'.....money. We need money thats what every one says. Man needs money to survive and be Happy. So, is money the key to Happiness? (like its a fukin door or somethin....y do people use this phrase) So is it money that we are all after? Surely this cant be the case. The Ambani bros have all the money in the world but are they happy? They aint. They fight for even more. Fuk them; if u win a million in a lottery, wont you buy another ticket?. Hell Yeah!
Or may be its the worldly possessions that make us happy. Now, you would want a House, a car, a beautiful wife, and a continuous source of income or whatever. But then we start lookin at a Bungalow, a villa, a beach house in the Barbados and then a Fukin island for yourself like Johnny Depp. Same wid the car, a corolla to a Beamer then to an Aston until a Buggati and may be a private fukin jet. NASA wont sell, or else, there are people who would buy the Freakin space shuttle......for what? so that u nd ur misses can fly to mars and repopulate the planet? So, I see that there is no such thing as content. Thats why its a virtue. Virtues are things that nobody can posses.
So like the lord said, worldly pleasure cant make you happy. And like some looser once said you can buy a bed, but you cant buy sleep. (By the way, thats the most stupidest thing I ever heard. I have one word to this guy, IKEA)
So I ask myself what is happiness? I cant define it, I feel bad that I cant. Its not like pain or pleasure, its not a feeling, its just a state of mind, ......I think. Trying to define it, I taught a past experience should be a good reference. So I started to think of the happiest moment in my life. It took me long.... longer than I'd like. If you are still reading this and are not retarded, try thinking of a time you think you were the happiest. But don let pleasure fool you for happiness. We are trying to define happiness here.

Is it when u were at school?
Why?
Coz' u had no responsibilities?
Then y da Fuk do v swear to be more responsible everyday, try to get in to a more responsible position at work, y do v marry? y do v make ourself responsible?
Was it the time u were out wid ur friends and family on a vacation?
But y du u feel happy when u r on a holiday or vacation?
Is it becoz u spend time with ur frnds and family? Man is a social animal. We cannot do or live by ourself like Will smith or Tom hanks in their movies. We need company.
But would you be in the same state of mind if u were with ur family or frnds at home or at college?
NO......Why? So is the place more important? more than friends and family to be happy?Maybe.
But if u went there alone, at the same place, u should be Fukin weird....don come close to me. So its the right people and the right place. But we dont exactly pursue friendship or relationships or party's and vacations. So what is it then? I think we are a bunch of headless chicken. We either don kno what v want or don know how to get vat v want. We are all RUDDERLESS.
I digress.....where was I.....Oh yeah heres the tough one, Does achievement bring you happiness?
I digress.....where was I.....Oh yeah heres the tough one, Does achievement bring you happiness?
I was most happy when I had achieved something......this is what a lot of people I know have told me.
Why exactly do you feel happy when you achieve something? Say when you came first in class or when you were appreciated or had won a prize for something.........did this make you happy? why?
Its becoz you were recognised by someone. You felt happy coz others around you felt u were important. Achievement doesn't give anybody anything but self contentment. Self satisfaction, "Sravan" calls it. But more importantly its the others recognizing you thats more important. So we want to feel important among others and to ourselves. So that means only winners can be happy. And the rest like me are suckers. (Oh by the way this statement makes me un happy for some reason).
But is the converse true? Are all winners happy? May be; at the winning moment but then they need to achieve something else. Fukin 'ell .....thats a whole different pursuit; of achievement and wanting to feel important.
By now some of you might be saying, So Whats your fukin point? hold it.....we are almost there.
So I think to come to a conclusion we should see what the wise and the holy say about happiness and life. I did, I asked GOD, By god i mean google: "what makes me happy?"

this is what came up. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/happiness_formula/4663572.stm
All the people in the video had a smile and seemed quite happy. But they din know what makes them happy. At least according to the shit I have been writing above. Then I realised something. People are seeking help from others to find out what makes them happy. How to live a happy life? Theres fuk loads of advise from experts in the field of making people happy.

So I chose the most trust worthy like the Dalai lama, the Bible and LordKrishna.
Dalai Lama gave 10 principles to a happy life and they all ask you to be more responsible and considerate to others as well. Gimme a break Lama dude. Make me happy first Mr. Lama. les worry about the other later shall we?
Then in the Bible:Happy is the man who finds (to learn, to be in the possession of) wisdom, and the man who gains understanding - Proverbs 3:13

Oh but I wasnt exactly happy when I was gaining the understand of ridiculous subjects like electrical engineering and Management at college. Oh may be they don come under wisdom. So I need to sit and listen to what an old man has to say.....coz they r said to be wise........sure thats gonna make me happy.
And then Krishna said to Arjuna (apparently): "Vihaya Kaman ya: sarvan, pumamscharathi nisprhah NirmamO nirahankaara: sa s(h)aanthimathigachchathi.........roughly meaning: Having given up all sense objects, that person who moves without desire and without the notion of "I" and "mine", enjoys Happiness.
Oh my(oh! krishna says not to say I, me, mine) god! dat means I (oops) need to let go of all my (voops) .....dats Fukin hard. I aint gonna be happy in this lifetime then.
So it is reasonable to assume that real happiness is a Myth, an imaginary state of mind that we all pursue every minute and yet fail to define it clearly. Why do we still pursue it like brainless machines? I think I know a reason.
Over the centuries, intelligent people have tried to implant an image of happy life in to peoples minds. A Euphoria that we all blindly pursue. Then advertising masterminds have made us believe that their products are the key to a happy life from clothes to real estate to utensils to cars......drugs holiday packages....Disney land have all successfully created an image of happy life by showing a picture perfect family in their adverts (even for a cough syrup for fuk sake) all yelling in unison that they are happy. And we have been gradually programmed to believe that you need their stuff to live happily, like, even the lord would have asked you to buy those things.
And we like machines slog our asses everyday in pursuit of this stuff hoping to be happy.
